If you’re a Scuba Diver in the York Region or live in Toronto or the GTA and want to dive with some awesome people who have a passion for the underwater real and a zest for life, YRS is the club for you.
Started by two friends in 2012 with a common love for diving. We are instructors, dive masters and casual divers who share a passion for the sport and a love of life. We are now the largest non-profit, independent dive club in York Region – centered in the Newmarket and Aurora area – with membership spanning Canada and the U.S, and growing every day!
York Region Scuba organizes local and international dive trips geared towards all experience levels. We welcome divers from beginner through technical and re-breathers. New to diving? Come on out and learn what’s involved in joining one of the most exciting sports around – it’s easier than you think! Our club has no membership fees or requirements to join, except for a desire to have fun!
We are affiliated with a number of dive shops throughout the region that provide access to scuba class, continuing education, recommendations for equipment and air fills.
Our top priority is providing responsible and safe diving!

Marty Goldgrub
Having started to dive somewhere between Apollo 15 and 16, Marty’s love of the water has spanned several decades. He became an instructor in 2009 and Master Instructor in 2015 to share his passion with others. Travelling extensively to dive sites across Ontario, as well as Florida, Cuba, Turks & Caicos, the Bahamas, Roatan and Mexico, Marty has developed a broad range of diving experience.
Matt Lepp
Matt has been diving longer than driving, having gotten his PADI OW Diver cert at 15. Once the addiction set in, he became a PADI Divemaster in 2006 and a OWSI in 2009. Later, he became a PADI Master Instructor in 2014. In 2015, Matt became a TDI Technical Instructor, passing along his love of tec diving. Matt has travelled across Ontario and BC, as well as Micronesia, Florida, the Bahamas, Turks & Caicos, DR, Mexico, and Roatan.
